Learn how to create a template in Printlane Studio, set a unique Template ID, configure dimensions, and add multiple customizable views for products that have multiple sides that can be designed.

Updated over a week ago

Navigate to the Templates overview and click Create Template in the top-right corner.

  1. Enter a name for your template. This is for administrative purposes only.

  2. Enter a Template ID. This should be the SKU or Article Code of the template in your store and must be unique.

Your template now has its basic details. Proceed to Step 2: Dimensions to configure the size of the template.

If your product has multiple views or sides that can be customized, continue reading.

Templates with multiple views

By default, a template has a single view called Front. This view is not visible in the Designer unless additional views are added for customer customization. This is useful for products with multiple sides, such as a t-shirt with a customizable front and back.

A template can have multiple views that customers can customize. For example:

  • A t-shirt with a customizable front and back.

  • A product with separate customizable parts, such as a set of drumsticks where each stick can be personalized.

Each view has its own layers and can optionally include a background image, offering more flexibility in customization.

To add an additional view, click Add View and assign it a suitable name. You can then configure each view with its own dimensions and layers.
