Getting started

This guide helps you working with Printlane Studio, the place where you log in to manage all your personizable products, user designs, artwork and more.

Printlane simplifies the process from customizing to printing products by integrating deeply with your current website or online store.


The Printlane designer is an extension that's loaded in your store when a client wants to customize a product that you enable to be customizable.

Product detail pages of a customizable product show a Personalize button instead of an Add to cart button. The button triggers the designer to open, which allows customers to personalize any product you have configured to be personalizable with the Printlane designer.

When the customer is ready designing, they click the Add to cart button in the designer which saves the design and adds the product to the cart, just like regular products.

Along with the product that's added to the cart, a design ID is saved to your store which you can use to look up the customer's design in Printlane Studio.


Printlane Studio is the place where you log in to manage all your personalizable products, user designs, artwork and more.

All your customers' designs are available in Printlane Studio when they are added to your store's shopping cart - even if they are not ordered in the end.

This enables you to help customers contacting you with questions about customizing a product, and allows you to change their design from within Printlane Studio.


The Printlane API enables you to integrate your software and services with Printlane.

Whether you like to import templates, push order information or export designs, the API offers a solution for all these use cases.
